Terms of Use

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Acceptance

By using Fretform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

Purpose of the service

Fretform provides browser-based tools for music practice and education. It is not a substitute for professional instruction, hearing care, or medical advice.

Safe use

You are responsible for choosing a safe playback volume, taking suitable breaks, and using connected instruments and audio equipment correctly. Stop if practice causes pain, ringing, or discomfort.

Availability and saved data

The service is provided on an "as available" basis. Features may change, pause, or be removed. Browser-stored routines, settings, and practice history may be lost when site data is cleared. Fretform provides a JSON backup tool but does not guarantee recovery or uninterrupted operation; users are responsible for keeping any backup they need.

Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, or use the site in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

Intellectual property

Fretform's original interface, text, branding, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and repository license terms. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Third-party links

Fretform may link to external services or products. Their availability, pricing, content, and policies are controlled by their operators. A link does not guarantee or endorse a product.

Voluntary support

One-time tips and recurring monthly support made through the linked Ko-fi page are voluntary support for the project. They do not purchase a product, unlock features, guarantee development work, or create an ongoing service entitlement. Monthly support renews until canceled through Ko-fi or the connected payment service. Payments are processed by Ko-fi and the selected payment service under their terms. Email [email protected] promptly if a payment was made in error.

Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect loss arising from use of the service, loss of locally stored settings, external websites, or reliance on practice information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and contact

These terms may be revised as Fretform develops. The updated date will be changed when material revisions are published. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
